Tezekevleri - Natural Building

Tezek: Manure
Evleri: Houses

The Tezekevleri project was initiated in 2016 by Aysun and Mehmet Sökmen on the Gündönümü dairy farm. It is an experimental natural building project unique in Turkey, and a part of the broader 8bin100 Project.

For half a year, many volunteers came along to help build three small houses and a bathroom building: altogether over 100 square meters of housing made mostly from straw, earth, manure and wood.

Besides the construction work, four workshops were organized to share the techniques and spread the word.
